What to decide for a bathroom
Vanity style
A floating vanity with a mitered waterfall front looks like a solid block of stone hanging on the wall. A standard top on a cabinet is simpler and leaves more storage. Either way, the sink choice decides the cutout.
Shower walls and benches
Large stone panels mean far fewer grout lines than tile. Book-matched panels, where two slabs open like a book, mirror the veining across the wall. Benches and niches are cut from the same slabs.
The material
Marble is the classic bathroom stone. Quartz and quartzite give a similar look with less upkeep. Compare them on our marble and quartzite and quartz pages.
Questions we get
Is marble a good idea in a bathroom?
It's a great look and a common choice for vanities and showers. Marble is softer than granite or quartz and can etch from acidic cleaners and some cosmetics, so seal it and use a gentle stone cleaner. If you want the look with less care, ask about quartz or quartzite.
Can the vanity, shower and tub all match?
Yes, if they come from the same slabs. Tell us everything that should match before the stone is chosen so we can plan enough material and lay out the pieces together.
Do you do single vanity tops?
We're set up for larger projects, so a single vanity on its own may not be the best fit. Call us and we'll tell you honestly.
